Emerging through the stony landscapes of Sassi di Matera the ANCIENT is descending and ascending in the in-betweenness of historical time and the continuum of present moment. The very same environments, stairscase plateau and the city silhouette, were also seen in Pier Paolo Pasolini's film, the Gospel According to St. Matthew.
